UPHILL WHITEWASH FRYS

The 'A' team, playing their first home game of the season, made an excellent start to the New Year defeating Frys 'A' by 9 rubbers to love to gain a valuable eleven points. The team consisted of Nicky Mills (Capt.), Mark Edwards, Jenny Cross, Paul Edwards, Becky Halfpenny and Wai Cheung. All the team performed well, winning all but one of the rubbers in straight games.

The only rubber to go to three games was the first ladies between Nicky & Jenny and Jan Kerr & Jayne Gay from Frys. Jan & Jayne won the first game relatively comfortably 13-21 but then Nicky & Jenny responded well winning the next hard fought game 21-19, then moved up a gear to take the last 21-9.

This moves Uphill back to the top of the League Table having played 5, won 4, got 32 rubbers and 40 points. However Clevedon Feathers 'A' have only played 4, won 4, got 28 rubbers and 36 points.

The two teams play each other in their next match, which is a home fixture for Uphill and the result of this match could well determine the League title for this season.
