Uphill Junior Badminton End of Season Tournament Finals and Presentations

Uphill Junior Badminton Club held their keenly contested end of season tournament with over 80 children from 6 to 16yrs old participating. Jack Lanning (Ex County and All England player) made the presentations on behalf of theHOWARD GROUP who make this end of season celebration possible by their kind sponsorship for the provision of trophies. Uphill Girls Shine

Four boys and three girls from Uphill juniors entered the Avon County Under 12's Badminton Tournament. The boys were Martin Brierly, Michael Carter, Billy Fear and Taylor Topham who all qualified from their boxes for the knockout stage of the tournament and were then beaten. In the doubles, both pairs lost in the Quarterfinals. The three girls shone and came away with four medals between them. Uphill Juniors Success

This week saw the Uphills mens and 'C' teams playing in the North Somerset League.

The mens team were at home to Mark and won by 4 rubbers to 2. The team consisted of four juniors, Scott Horsnell, Chris Horsnell, Jonathan Kittos and Usman Jalil. The match was good experience for all these junior players and they acquitted themselves well. Usman won all his rubbers with good support from the other members of the team.
