Uphill 'D' team, consisting of Captain Fiona Singleton, Matthew Valentine, Chris Retallack, Dave Barnes, Sue Garrett and Tom Higgins were at home to Winscombe 'B' and won by 8 rubbers to 1. Only two rubbers went to three games, both of which Uphill won. Uphill started well by winning the first three mixed, and followed this up by winning the three ladies rubbers. UPHILL’S ‘C’ TEAM TOPS THEIR DIVISION

Uphill 'C' team were away to Nailsea & Yatton 'C' and won by 8 rubbers to 1. The team of Ruth Harding, John Hunt, Maureen Matthews, Rob Morray, Nicole Blunden and Captain Mark Hosford all played well, with Ruth, Maureen, John and Rob winning all their rubbers, with support from Nicole and Mark. JOHN & TOM WIN UPHILL MENS DOUBLES TOURNAMENT

Unfortunately The 'C' team match against Chew Valley had to be cancelled due to the weather.

The Uphill Badminton Club mens internal handicapped doubles tournament was a great success this year with twenty men playing. The draw took place to provide ten pairs. These pairs were then handicapped by a handicapping committee and split into two boxes of five. The top two pairs from each box then went forward to the semi-finals, the winners then contested the final.

Uphills 'B' and 'D' teams have been in action this week and the Club also held its ladies doubles Tournament.

The 'B' team were at home to Wyvern 'A' and lost by 9 rubbers to 0. This was always going to be a hard match against the team who came down from Division 1 last year and will maybe win the 2nd Division this year.
