UPHILL BADMINTON JUNIORS IN FESTIVE SPIRIT

Uphill only had one League match this week and that was at home against top of the mens Division Winscombe. This was a very enjoyable hard fought match that finished with honours even at 3 rubbers each. All the games and rubbers were very close with three of the six rubbers going to three games. The two youngest members of the Uphill team, Matt Potts and Robin Curry acquitted themselves well, both winning two of their three rubbers with support from Steve Emerson and Captain Bill Ponting.

GOOD RESULTS FOR UPHILL BADMINTON 'B' & 'D' TEAMS

Uphill Badminton Club had three League teams in action this week with the 'B' and 'D' teams winning and the 'C' team losing. The 'B' team were at home to Mark 'A' and won by 9 rubbers to 0. This was a closer match than the score would indicate as five of the rubbers went to three games. The first mixed was won easily by Teresa Davison & Steve Mathew 21-9, 21-14. Uphill Badminton Club had another excellent result for the 'A' team, but the 'D'and 'E' teams results were disappointing.

The 'A' team, playing at home, had a top of the league match against Clevedon Feathers 'A', which they won by 7 rubbers to 2. This was a match that produced some excellent badminton for the spectators with four of the rubbers going to three games.
