LEAGUE CHAMPIONS UPHILL MAKE GOOD START

This week saw Uphills 'A', 'B', 'D', 'E' and mens teams in action, with three wins and three losses.

The Uphill 'A' team consisting of Nicky Mills (Capt.), Mark Edwards, Becky Halfpenny, Paul Edwards, Julie Storer and Ross Maclennan, started their defence of the Division 1 crown, which they have held for the past three seasons, away to newly promoted Pill 'A' and won by 7 rubbers to 2.

TOUGH START FOR UPHILL LEAGUE TEAMS

Uphill have six teams in the North Somerset League this season. The 'A' in Division 1, 'B' in Div. 2, 'C' in Div. 3, 'D' in Div. 5, 'E' in Div. 6 and a mens team. This week saw Uphills re-formed 'B', 'C' and 'D' teams start their North Somerset League campaigns. The Junior Club also started their monthly singles tournament in the Clubs top group.
