Date: 7th March 2010The Clubs annual ladies and mens internal handicapped doubles tournament were a great success this year with sixteen ladies and twenty men playing. The pairs were drawn from a hat and played in a one game to 21 round robin event with the top four pairs playing in semi-finals and a final. In the ladies competition all the games were hotly contested and it was pleasing to see that every pairing won at least one game with many of the games having close exciting finishes. Date: 28th February 2010Uphill Badminton Club had the 'B', 'D' and 'E' teams in league action this week. The 'B' team were playing at home to CBC @ Backwell and won a close competitive match by 5 rubbers to 4. The team of, Christy Langford, Brian Hadley, Denise Burton (Capt.), Rob Morray, Teresa Davison and Matt Valentine all played well. The 'B' team were playing at home to Nailsea & Yatton 'A' in Division 2 of the North Somerset League and won a close competitive match by 5 rubbers to 4. Date: 14th February 2010Uphill Badminton Club teams have had some extreme results with the 'A' and 'C' teams winning, the 'B' team winning and losing and the 'D' and mens teams losing. A group of ten players representing all the club teams also took part in the Tough Ten Run and raised a significant sum of money for the sports relief charity. Date: 7th February 2010Uphill Badminton Club had another week of good results as the 'A' and 'C' teams won and the 'B' team lost a very close away match. The 'A' team who earlier in the season beat Wyvern 'A' 8-1 this time beat a weakened Wyvern 'A' by 9 rubbers to 0 and in so doing handed out their fourth whitewash to opposing teams this season.
